A true success story with over 2 million customers, Duster reinvents itself in the third generation with a headstrong new design, true 4x4 performance and multi-purpose SUV capability
A HIGHER LEVEL DUSTER
Dacia presents the third generation of the Duster model and continues the saga of its iconic bestseller:
-
it has an even more expressive design that gives a sense of solidity
-
it represents a big step forward in terms of performance thanks to the CMF-B platform
-
it offers even greater off-road driving capabilities in the 4x4 version
-
it is provided with hybrid powertrains and even more durable materials
-
it offers new technologies that increase the level of safety and comfort
Everything is new except the most important feature: Duster remains the best family SUV in its class in terms of value for money! The new Duster will remain faithful to Dacia's "value for money" positioning. It will continue to combine the most affordable prices in its segment with an increased spacious interior and to offer the best value for money on the market.

The new Duster continues the story of a model that has become the highest market standard in its category and a true icon of the Dacia brand and its values: solid and outdoor, it offers what is really necessary, it is cool and ecological: Duster, first introduced on the market in 2010 and renewed for the first time in 2017, was known as a model that broke with the previously prevailing rules on the SUV market.

Duster is a true success story of a car that has won over 40 awards and produced over 2.2 million units in its 13-year career. Thanks to constantly growing sales, Duster has become in 2022 the best-selling SUV in Europe on the passenger car market in all segments combined. Every day, almost 1,000 Dusters roll off the production lines of the Dacia plant in Pitesti, Romania, or approximately one model per minute!
The overall appearance is more massive and muscular, but the dimensions of the 2024 Duster increase very little compared to the current generation, with just 2 millimeters more in length.
What changes a lot is the front, which has been deeply updated and the new front LED daytime running lamps are noteworthy, whose Y-shaped design is partly recalled with the rear ones, with a three-dimensional design. The rear handles are also new, "drowned" in the doors.
The adoption of the CMF-B platform has allowed for more space in the cabin, especially in the front in terms of width and in the rear in terms of centimeters for the legs. Furthermore, the boot floor is lower and the opening wider and higher, with load capacity increased by 6% for a total of 472 liters minimum on the front-wheel drive version.
Big news in the interior with a dashboard equipped, for the first time, with digital instrument panel (although the basic version will keep a classic analogue one) and with a 10.1" central display facing the driver.
COMPLETELY RENOVATED, MORE MUSCULAR AND DISTINCTIVE DESIGN
Duster features a completely new design. It retains all the stylistic qualities that have made previous generations successful, in particular the appearance of a durable SUV, which gives a sense of solidity, but taken to a higher level, more forward-thinking and more expressive, in line with the new visual identity of Dacia. The new Duster proudly presents its renewed design.
David Durand, Dacia design director: Before starting to work on the styling of the new Duster, we focused on refining the body proportions to increase the impression of power. Starting the work with the right proportions allows you to avoid the resorting to various subsequent stylistic tricks.
Focusing on what is most important and eliminating useless gadgets: this Dacia philosophy which guided the design of the new Duster too.
Designers began to work with simple shapes: cabin, hood, bumper, etc. Then they combined all these elements into a whole with clean, clear lines, giving the model a modern, refined look with a well-thought-out, flexible body and expressive shapes.
The simplicity of the shapes and volumes enhances the strength of the design: a vertically outlined front end, clearly defined wheel arch covers with beveled edges, a large boot lid and side windows that create a uniform surface from the front to the rear of the passenger compartment.
The new Duster is elegantly protected by a belt that goes around the car without leaving any gap. It consists of side protection strips for the lower edges of the bodywork, which connect with the visual identification elements of the new Duster, and with the wheel arch covers, which in turn connect to the front and rear bumpers. This is what the new Duster looks like: more robust and suitable for the outdoors than ever!
The coherent and updated design of the new Duster reflects the outdoor nature of the car combined with solidity in a more sustainable approach.

- Fully colored front and rear skid plates. Abandoning the painted version is advantageous not only from the point of view of environmental care, but also for our customers: even scratched covers never lose their factory color.
- The side skirts of the lower body edges, wheel arch covers, model identifiers, front bumper triangular panels, front and rear skid plates and the rear bumper lower belt are made of a new durable material developed by Dacia engineers and the chemical company LyondellBasell under the name Starkle®. The material, used for the first time in the conceptual model of the Manifesto, contains up to 20% recycled materials (polypropylene). This composition results in the presence of white particles that create the granulated effect desired by Dacia and is used in its raw form, without painting, which reduces the carbon footprint associated with its production and avoids the need to apply an additional layer of paint.
David Durand continues: We tried to achieve maximum coherence between the exterior and interior design. The compact and solid cabin design creates a real sense of protection.
This impression is created by the new high and wide dashboard with a vertically placed horizontal decorative band. Consistency with the bodywork design is also expressed in the shape of the air vents, modeled on the shape of the wheel arches.
As in the case of exterior design, interior design also focuses on what is most important, namely usability. Particular attention was paid to ergonomics, guaranteed by the 10.1-inch central screen positioned in the driver's field of vision and tilted towards him at an angle of 10°. The new automatic gear lever is also very ergonomic. The steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom, is very comfortable to use and makes getting in and out easier.
Duster wouldn't be Duster without a practical and ingeniously designed interior that simplifies the daily lives of its users. Everything has been designed so that they can feel at home, whether in the front or rear seats, says David Durand.
A strong link between the exterior and interior design of the new Duster are the characteristic "Y"-shaped motifs of the car's light signature:
- In the passenger compartment they are located on the air vents, whose surface forms the letter "Y" (brown-copper in the Extreme version) and on the door panels, inside the armrests. The branding in the center of the steering wheel has been replaced by a new Dacia logo.
- On the exterior of the new Duster, Y-shaped motifs create a light signature on the front and rear lights. This motif is also visible in the design of the aluminum wheels, in which the shiny effect was obtained through appropriate processing of the raw material, without chrome plating.
David Durand sums up: We wanted to make the design of the new Duster even more attractive than before, give it a style even more in line with the spirit of Duster and the spirit of Dacia, in short, to emphasize with even greater strength and pride our values: solid and outdoor, offering what is truly essential, cool and eco-smart.
A BIG STEP FORWARD IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE THANKS TO THE CMF-B PLATFORMThe new Duster is built on the CMF-B platform, which is a key element of Dacia's manufacturing strategy. First introduced on the latest Sandero and Logan models and subsequently adapted to the needs of the Jogger, this competitive and extremely versatile platform gives the brand great flexibility and allows it to best implement its ambitious product plan.
Thanks to the use of the CMF-B platform in the new Duster, it was possible to increase the usable internal space compared to the previous generation, both in the passenger and luggage areas, while maintaining the same overall length.
The technologically advanced design of the new Duster platform also allows for greater travel comfort while reducing the level of vibration and noise. The driving experience is significantly improved thanks to more dynamic handling and an incomparably better road feel.
The CMF-B platform puts the new Duster on the path to electrification: it allows the installation of powertrains based on light hybrid and full hybrid technologies.
Patrice Lévy Bencheton, Dacia product performance director, explains: The new CMF-B platform will be a key asset in the development of the Dacia model range, now and in the future. Show its full potential in the new Duster. It is a model equipped with new electrified powertrains, characterized by the highest level of energy efficiency, with significantly improved operating parameters, without losing any of its attractiveness and convenience, which have determined its success.
Engines
ECO-G 100, dual fuel engine (petrol-LPG). In LPG mode, the New Duster ECO-G 100 emits on average 10% less CO2 than its predecessors. The range is over 1,300 kilometers (datas compliant with the WLTP standard), thanks to two tanks with a total capacity of almost 100 litres: 50 liters of petrol and 50 liters of usable capacity of the LPG tank. The transition from one fuel to another occurs immediately and imperceptibly thanks to the switch on the dashboard.
TCe 130: this engine with a first level of electrification is provided for the first time in the Dacia offer. It combines the new generation 1200 cc 3-cylinder turbocharged Miller cycle petrol engine with a mild hybrid system. This system supports the combustion engine during starting and acceleration, reducing average fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by approximately 10% (compared to a combustion engine of similar power). It provides greater driving pleasure than the current TCe 130 (acceleration from a standstill and in higher gears) thanks to the support given by the Mild Hybrid combination: the car responds faster to the driver's commands and the ride is smoother. Regenerative braking allows the traction battery with a capacity of 0.9 kWh at 48 V to be recharged in a completely transparent way for the driver. The TCe 130 is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the 4X2 and 4X4 versions.
HYBRID 140: first introduced by Dacia in early 2023 on Jogger, the HYBRID 140 engine now arrives under the hood of the new Duster. It is based on consolidated and reliable technologies from the Renault Group and consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine with a cubic capacity of 1.6 liters and a power of 94 HP, two electric motors (49 HP engine and high-voltage starter-alternator) and automatic transmission. It has 4 gears for the combustion engine and 2 gears for the electric motor. The combined technology is possible thanks to the absence of the clutch. The regenerative braking system combined with a 1.2 kWh 230 V traction battery and a high-efficiency gearbox allow you to move around the city in fully electric mode for up to 80% of the driving time, consuming 20% of less energy in the combined cycle and up to 40% less in the urban cycle. Furthermore, starting from a standing start is always in 100% electric mode.
Hybrid model – Hybrid 140
The engine offer on Duster sees for the first time a full hybrid engine with a power of 140 HP. Take advantage of a dynamic engine without charging constraints, which will allow you to travel up to 80% of city routes completely electric and reduce fuel consumption by up to 40% (in urban driving, compared to an equivalent petrol engine).
Advantages of the HYBRID 140 engine
Driving Simplicity: multi-mode automatic transmission
Driving comfort: silent electric start
Driving pleasure: up to 80% electric driving in the city
Consumption and CO2 emissions: up to 40% savings on fuel
Automatic gearbox available only on the full hybrid version
4WD model
Ready for all roads
An increased ground clearance of up to 217 mm, an attack angle greater than 30° for climbing slopes in 4x4, resistant materials: faithful to its SUV DNA, Duster shows excellent off-road capabilities. The classic transmission shaft that sends the motion to the rear wheels is retained. The 4x4 all-wheel drive is combined with Terrain Control, which allows you to select five driving modes: Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, Off-Road and Eco. In this way, the vehicle adapts to the type of road by working on torque distribution, traction control and stability control. Precisely the refined distribution of torque between the axles is the main evolution compared to the outgoing system.
New Starkle® materials in recycled plastic, increased ground clearance, improved attack angle
On any type of road, even the most difficult
In its 4x4 version, Duster will allow you to tackle all roads through the new driving mode selector.
The new Duster is available with Terrain Control 4x4 traction
The new Duster has unique off-road capabilities in the market of "non-specialist" 4x4 models (all-wheel drive models not equipped with a reduction gear), thanks to which it can easily take outdoor enthusiasts on their jounts.
GREATER OFF-ROAD DRIVING POSSIBILITIES WITH THE 4X4 VERSION
The new Duster is available with Terrain Control 4x4 traction, offering 5 driving modes:

- AUTO: the gearbox automatically distributes power between the front and rear axles based on road grip and speed.
- SNOW: Optimizes the driving path on slippery surfaces thanks to special settings of the ESC stability control system and the wheel slip prevention system.
- MUD/SAND: For driving on uneven surfaces such as muddy or sandy roads.
- OFF-ROAD: offers the best opportunities for off-road driving and overcoming difficult road sections. In terms of capabilities, it is very similar to the 4x4 Lock mode of the current Duster, but more advanced, with the function of automatic and optimal distribution of torque to the front and rear wheels depending on the detected level of road grip and vehicle speed.
- ECO: optimizes fuel consumption by appropriately controlling the climate control and vehicle performance. It ensures optimal distribution of engine torque to the front and rear axles to reduce fuel consumption and also adapts the drive operation to road traction conditions.
Ground clearance adapted for off-road driving: 217 mm in the 4x4 version, one of the highest in this market segment.
The approach and departure angles make overcoming obstacles even easier: up to 31° at the front and up to 36° at the rear in the 4x4 versions.
Downhill speed control system. The system is particularly useful when driving off-road and on steep descents. It controls the brakes to prevent the car from accelerating too much. It allows you to drive at a speed adapted to the situation (according to the driver's instructions) between 0 and 30 km/h. It is active in all gears, including reverse. The driver no longer has to worry about the accelerator and brake pedals and can concentrate only on the steering wheel.

New All Road Info system. The 10.1-inch central screen displays particularly useful information during off-road driving:
- Power distribution on the front and rear axles (4x4 version).
- Lateral inclination angles (left/right) of the car
- Longitudinal inclination angles that allow you to evaluate the inclination of uphill or downhill slopes
- Power distribution on the front and rear axles (4x4 version).
PROTECTIVE ELEMENTS, RELIABLE AND MORE DURABLE MATERIALS
The bodywork is now completely protected from small bumps and scratches. The side protection strips, connected to the wheel arch covers and the front and rear bumpers, form a continuous band around the bodywork. Large covers located under the bumpers protect the lower part of the bodywork.
The passenger compartment is resistant to all harmful factors, especially in the Extreme version, which is equipped as standard with washable microcloud upholstery, rubber mats for the front and rear seats and a rubber mat for the trunk. Rugs and carpets contain 20% recycled materials.
Fully colored front and rear skid plates. This means that the material injected into the mold itself, from which the element is made, is colored. Thanks to this, its color remains durable, unlike an externally painted element. Despite the inevitable bumps and scratches on skid plates will still leave marks on them, they will be nearly invisible because the factory color will be retained.
The protective elements around the body are made of a material called Starkle®, a new material developed by Dacia engineers. Since they are not painted, any scratches and scuffs will be practically invisible.
